Weekend things

Today has been the Christmas Fayre in our town, lots of stalls selling crafty gifts, jewellery, food and art. One stall in particular caught my eye selling original art prints by artist Mark Kaiser. I couldn't afford to buy one of them so instead bought one of his cards. A really lovely picture called 'Dance of the Carpathian Skaters'.

Other crafty bits... Well I've made some salt dough Christmas hearts... They are yet to be painted and pretty-fied but I can already visualise them hanging on the tree.

Oooh and another thing I'm liking this weekend is The Lumineers Ho Hey. Just what you need to bring a smile to your face :-)

Crafty plans for Christmas...

Getting excited about Christmas already!  Well all the decorating possibilities anyway! I've been absorbing ideas from the interweb and this year it's going to be colour and pizazz with a little bit of cutesy kitchness thrown in! Couldn't resist this gorgeous little fella, inspiration from the latest Mollie Makes mag and tracked down in my local toy shop.

Yep I'm cute.

Then of course there are all the other bits and bobs, my 'Christmas Drawer' is beginning to overflow-eth with brightly coloured paper chains, baubles, and my latest crafty endeavour (pattern from the Attic24 blog), crocheted stars with my own addition of miniature coloured bells (that were a bit of a faff to sew on to be honest, and some of the red thready bits need to be snipped off..).

I also have plans for snowflakes, a mantle display, paper chains, a wreath, paper stars, salt dough hearts, a musical tin box thing if I can find one. I haven't been able to stick to one colour scheme so I've decided to mix it all up together, but I kind of like white and brights with a bit of natural woody-ness thrown in.

Right, time to crack on and string my stars together...
